SHAPING CHARACTER!

I found a bit of plastic clay, And idly fashioned it one day,
And as my fingers pressed it still, it moved and yielded to my will.

I came again when days had passed, The bit of clay was hard at last.
The form I gave it still it bore, But I could change that form no more.

I took a piece of  living clay, And gently formed it day by day,
And molded with my power and art A young child's soft and yielding heart.

I came again when years were gone -- It was a man I looked upon.
He still that early impress wore, And I could change him nevermore.

THAT LITTLE CHAP O' MINE:

To feel his little hand in mine, so clinging and so warm;
To know he thinks me strong enough to keep him safe from harm;
To see his simple faith in all that I can say or do -
It sort o' shames a fellow, but it makes him better, too;
A I reckon I'm a better man than what I used to be,
Because I have this chap at home who thinks the world of me.

DO YOUR BEST:

Do your best and be not troubled, Should some others better do;
If your work should fail to please you Don't give up, but strive anew.
Do your best, for slighted labor Ne'er can satisfaction bring;
Do it quickly, time is passing, You must seize it on the wing.
Many duties lie before you, Trials oft your strength will test;
But you need not fret or worry, If only you do your best.
Do your best; get not disheartened; Though the task is hard and long,
God is ever near to help you; He can make the weakest strong.
Tell Him of the work accomplished, Ask His help to do the rest;
He can smooth the path before you, If you only do your best.

BITE YOUR TONGUE:

When you bite your tongue from the luxury of complaining, you are gaining victory against the devil. When you praise God, you are showing the heavenly host, powers and principalities, the demons of darkness and the angels of light that your Great God is worthy of praise no matter what your circumstances! Praise ye the Lord!

WHAT KIND OF PERSON R U?

Great People talk about ideas. Average people talk about things. Small people talk about other people.
Great People make things happen! Average People brag on them! Small people just sit back and watch!

WHAT CANCER CAN'T DO?

Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple love, It cannot shatter hope, It cannot corrode faith, It cannot eat away peace,
It cannot destroy confidence, It cannot kill friendship, It cannot shut out memories, It cannot silence courage,
It cannot invade the soul, It cannot reduce eternal life, It cannot quench the Spirit -
It cannot lessen the power of the resurrection!

MOTHER:

There's only one heart like my mother's
And that is the heart of God,
Forgiving, forgetting and loving
The child who the wrong has done.

No eyes like the eyes of mother
Can see in me all that is best;
Remembering all of my goodness,
Forgetting all of the rest.

No feet like the feet of mother
That hasten to be at my side
To comfort my hour of suffering,
To share in the joys that betide.

No hand like the hand of mother
So gentle to soothe and so kind;
When God gave to me a mother
'Twas the choicest gift He could find.

THE WOODEN BOWL:

I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a

week from now, a month from now, a year from now.

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and

four-year old grandson.

The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step

faltered.

The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's

shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his

spoon onto the floor.

When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.

'We must do something about father,' said the son. 'I've had enough of

his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There,

Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.

Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a

wooden bowl.

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a

tear in his eye as he sat alone.

Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions

when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood

scraps on the floor.

He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the

boy responded,

'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in

when I grow up.

'The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless.

Then tears started to stream down their cheeks.

Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him

back to the family table.

For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And

for some reason,

neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was

dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens,

how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better

tomorrow.

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she

handles four things:

a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree

lights.

I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents,

you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.

I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a

'life..'

I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt

on both hands.

You need to be able to throw something back

I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you

But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others,

your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you

I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I

usually make the right decision.

I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.

People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a

friendly pat on the back.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

I've learned that you should share this with your friends and family you care about. We

can all still learn some things!!!

It is there for each and every one of us.

ABOUT JESUS:

IN CHEMISTRY, HE TURNED WATER TO WINE.

 IN BIOLOGY, HE WAS BORN WITHOUT THE

NORMAL CONCEPTION;

IN PHYSICS, HE DISPROVED THE LAW OF

GRAVITY WHEN HE ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN;

IN ECONOMICS, HE DISPROVED THE LAW

OF DIMINISHING RETURN BY FEEDING 5000 MEN WITH

TWO FISHES & 5 LOAVES OF BREAD;

IN MEDICINE, HE CURED THE SICK AND THE

BLIND WITHOUT ADMINISTERING A SINGLE DOSE OF DRUGS,

IN HISTORY, HE IS THE BEGINNING AND THE END;

IN GOVERNMENT, HE SAID THAT HE SHALL

BE CALLED WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, PRINCE OF PEACE

IN SALVATION, HE SAID NO ONE COMES TO

THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH HIM;

The Greatest Man in History:

Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master.

Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher.

Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer

He had no army, yet kings feared Him..

He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

I feel honored to serve such a Leader who loves us!

Believe in God and in Jesus Christ His Son...

THE SEED:

A successful business man was growing old and

knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business.

Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children,

he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together.

He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you.

"The young executives were Shocked, but the boss continued. "I am going to give each one of you a SEED today - one very special SEED.

I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you.

I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO."

One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed.

Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the o ther executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.

Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.

Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by,

still nothing.

By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn't have a plant and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by -- still nothing in Jim's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Jim didn't say anything to his colleagues, however... He just kept watering and fertilizing the soil - He so wanted the seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection.

Jim told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot.

But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right.

He took his empty pot to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful -- in all shapes and sizes.

Jim put his empty pot on the floor and

many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him!

When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives.

Jim just tried to hide in the back.. "My, what great plants, trees, and flowers you have grown," said the CEO. "Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!"

All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front.

Jim was terrified. He thought, "The CEO knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me fired!"

When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed - Jim told him the story.

The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, "Behold your next Chief Executive Officer! His name is Jim!"

Jim couldn't believe it. Jim couldn't even grow his seed.

"How could he be the new CEO?" the others said.

Then the CEO said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead - it was not possible for them to grow.

All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you.

Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive Officer!"

* If you plant honesty, you will reap trust

* If you plant goodness, you will reap friends

* If you plant humility, you will reap greatness

* If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment

* If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective

* If you plant hard work, you will reap success

* If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation

* If you plant faith in God , you will reap a harvest

So, be careful what you plant now;

it will determine what you will reap later..
